General Motors India will launch their Chevrolet Beat diesel for the Indian car market on 25th July 2011

General Motors India will launch their Chevrolet Beat diesel for the Indian car market on 25th July 2011. General Motors India, President and Managing Director Karl Slym had this to say.”With fluctuation in fuel prices in India from time to time, the new diesel Beat, the prices of which will be announced at the launch will revolutionize the small car segment, with its engine capacity and fuel economy.”
You see the new diesel Beat is powered by a 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. What makes this a smart choice is that the smaller engine helps keep the price down close to the petrol versions and the turbocharge helps generate enough power and performance to keep the Beat racing.
The company, which sold about 1.1 lakh cars last year in India, was doubling its growth rate in India as compared to industry average and expected to sell about 1.4 lakh vehicles in all variants this year. General Motors now has 250 outlets in India, and demand in rural areas is increasing. Expansion plans include having sales and service network in 300 locations by the end of 2011.
